One Piece Local Player Allocations

One Piece Local Player Allocation System:

Players are allocated boxes of each new set at MSRP based on our internal point system. Some details, like exact point values and weighting, vary from set to set and are intentionally not published so the system can’t be gamed. Here’s what we can share:

Earning Points

  • Earn points by playing in our local One Piece store tournaments.
  • The point period typically runs from the first tournament after a set’s prerelease until we receive our allocation from distributors or the next set’s prerelease, whichever comes first.
  • Extra Grand Battles, Store Championships, and Prereleases do not award points.
  • Since most tournaments have waitlists, we give minor consideration to players who are consistently waitlisted and unable to play.

Point Deductions

In order of severity, points are deducted for:

  • No-showing while listed as “Successful”.
  • Dropping within 4 hours of the event start time while listed as “Successful” (no deduction if you were moved from “Waitlist” to “Successful” within that 4-hour window.)
  • Dropping before the end of round 3.
  • Other minor factors.

    How Allocation Works

Your net points (after deductions) and the date you last played in one of our locals determine your rank among all local players for the period. Depending on how many boxes we receive, we aim to give every eligible player at least one box, with additional boxes going to top-ranked players. Players with low or negative points, or who haven’t played locals in a significant amount of time, may receive a reduced allocation or none at all.

      Why We Deduct Points

Bandai and distributors base both our product allocation and our Store Rank on event attendance and how close we come to filling each event. When a spot goes unfilled, everyone loses: waitlisted players miss a chance to play and earn points, and our store does not earn credit towards allocation or store rank.

      • No-shows keep a waitlisted player from moving up, so we end up running events below capacity even when people are waitlisted.
      • Late drops (within 4 hours) have the same effect, since waitlisted players who get moved up often don’t have enough notice to make it to the store.
      • Early drops (before the end of round 3): We understand things come up and you may occasionally need to leave early. However, our events are for play, not just to pick up entry product. We do highly encourage new players to come play!
